Ruth Blake is a self-taught singer-songwriter and guitarist who writes and performs in an array of musical styles. She has crowd-funded and self-released two studio abums (Lullabies for Grown-Ups [2015] and Creation [2018]), and performed and recorded with various other artists within the conscious music scene, including Eddie Chilvers, Caulbearers, James Frost and Susie Ro. She is becoming popular with the more ecologically and spiritually inclined festivals including Shambala, Colourfest, Spirit Fest and Into The Wild, as well as folk festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival where she performed with the People's Front Room and was hailed 'pick of the bunch... destined for gretater things' by Drowned In Sound in 2015. Much beloved by Glastonbury Fm, her latest album, 'Creation', was album of the month shortly after its release. She is currently recording her third album as well as writing her first piece for theatre and a collection of fairytales.
As well as her solo act, Ruth performs live with Caulbearers and their offshoot improv band The Order of Love which aims to blur the boundary between artist and audience. She is a member of the Music as Medicine Collective and Brightsky Community, and is generally focused on the power of music as a healing force in the world.
